Card Front Cardinal
Lens: Bigma 50-500 Photo Location: Texas ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/150s Aperture: F6.7

I got a few of this little male Cardinal this evening......unfortunately I was shooting at quite a distance and the detail and sharpness are not near as good as if I could have been closer.

These are heavy crops, but I do like the poses, so they will be used for Card Fronts, where resolution and fine detail is not as important.

Get as close as you can get, then step forward and get just a little closer.....it just isn't always possible, is it?
Best Regards!

Tough shots for the Bigma. Given the heavy crops, no doubt the IQ will suffer, but you did well to capture them at all.

Yeah Ash, you just need to be s closer if you want detail...just like with out own eyes. I do save these for Card Fronts, and they come in handy at times....I send out a lot of cards. Sometimes I convert shots like these to watercolors, and they look great on Card Fronts.
Best Regards! Girls next week if I get my wireless receivers fixed!

Jeff.....We all have plenty of those, but we don't get discouraged do we. We are like those old prospectors, the big strike must be just around the bend! I've got to believe the hunt was almost as good as the big strike when they made it.....it is often that way for me. I just keep snapping away......and sometimes it works out....sometimes not...but I'm still here!

Here's one where I had better luck, and there must have been some luck involved according to the EXIF......
