Another colourful bird - the bee-eaters!

Other than kingfishers, bee-eaters is my another favorite bird. Love their face, head, throat and their vibrant rainbow colors!
Sharing my collection (Nov Dec - Jan 2011) taken at Thailland & Singapore.

2 more flight shots in B&W




#1, #6, #7 shot with Sigma 500mm F4.5, the rest shot with DA*300
#1 & #6 taken at Thailand, the rest at Singapore.
These are migratory birds & have already left. Hope to see them again in the next few months.

More fine shots! Enjoyed them all. Otis is still asking if you will trade one of those little Kingfisher birdies for a box of Squirrels? He said he would set him up on a limb and just look at him all day.....will they eat peanuts? Corn?
He loves the Bee-eaters too, but wants his own Kingfisher.

Love them all but the first one really stands out with the colorful detail of the Bee-eater and creamy bokeh. You nailed that one! It sure makes a difference when you have the extra reach of the Sigma 500mm.
Its always a pleasure seeing what you have to share.

Thanks Otis for enjoying this collection of bee-eaters.
I abit like squirrels, but I like bee-eaters & I love most is the kingfishers.
Will find one day to retrieve my squirrel pics & post it here.

Great collection!
I really like the colors and the gradient backrgound in the first photo. Details are also sharp.
