Pangkor Island
Lens: DA 18-55 WR + DA 55-300 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Pangkor Island, Malaysia ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

The next stop in my travels of SE Asia was the pretty island of Pulau Pangkor, where Pavarotti has a holiday home and other stars make their mark...

The K-5 proved useful in capturing these frisky yet intimidating monkeys in the shadows (ISO 3200, f/5.8 at 300mm):

It offered some picturesque scenes to shoot as well, despite the oppressive heat:

And a taste of local living on the island:

It's a melting pot of Chinese, Indian and Malay peoples all living together with infused cultures and lifestyles. An interesting experience indeed.

It sure looks like you did have a good trip Ash and you do have the images to prove it. Looking at the second one after the first one it's hard to believe that's the same animal.

Anyway, super pictures, thanks for posting them.

Thanks to you both.
Indeed Heinrich - how those fangs fit into that petit jawline is beyond me.

What an enjoyable group of photos. Shots 6 and 7 - the line of rocks with the misty islands in the background - are exceptional in my view.

Thanks Jer & Dave.
I had to experiment with exposure and contrast given the amazing amount of haze in the area.
