City Hall at nNght
Posted By: xs400, 10-31-2007, 11:56 AM

I was up in San Francisco last night. Took a few shots by city hall. This was from an unusual angle. I'd appreciate any C&C.
Thanks,
Frank

Not exactly sure why, but I really like that shot, Frank. It may be the way the blue of the dome contrasts against the sombre yellows and browns. Perhaps a smidgin of perspective correction might've helped the wall on the right and the bottom-left tree. Otherwise I think that it really works.

Steve,
Thanks for your comment. I'll take a look at the perspective correction you suggest.
Cheers,
Frank

Really like it.

One complaint: the dome and wall of the building seems to be a bit canted to the right. Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Great shot, love the colour contrast. The blue effect of the dome is great.
Just wondered though, is the closest lamp on the left a little distracting. Block it out and see what you think. I felt the shot improved, considering the second lampost nearer the building would still be there.
Just my humble opinion.
Great shot, nevertheless

You're right, it does look a little canted to the right.

Thanks for the suggestion - I also thing the shot looks better with the lamp on the left removed.
