A day to remember
Posted By: axl, 04-29-2011, 01:03 PM

Hi all,
just wanted to share a day to remember with you.
Regular or long time users will know that Mrs Axl was pregnant. Due date? 22 May.
I was planning to shoot 2nd pregnancy shoot, as the bump was really cute.
Well, ain't gonna happen anymore...
24 days before due date, Axl Jr decided it's the right time to come into this world, and forget Royal Wedding, he was going to steal the show!
After racing through the contractions and labour itself (considering it was 1st child - they apparently always take forever) JJ, as we nick name him, was born on 29/04 @ 8:44 am. After cutting the umbilical cord I felt like the proudest man under the sun! Those who had their first kids born will understand....
Of course my camera wasn't too far away from the action, so here are few shots to share:

"welcome to this world"

"first handshake"

"proudest daddy"

"delighted mom"

"deserved rest"

for those who wonder what lens did get the privilege to take these memorable shots....drumroll.....DA*55. I have to say it delivered big time!
and now, after 40 hours without sleep, let me go and have a one last good night sleep!
Regards
P

Congratulations! My youngest son came a full two months early, barely weighed 3 lbs......that was a while ago, he just retired from the Army as a Lt Col after 22 years service and three wars....in March.
Best Regards and many happy days ahead!
Rupert

That's great, Peter! "Well done" to you and Mrs Axl. JJ was obviously keen to get on with things. And don't worry; they do become civilised eventually

Best wishes,
Richard.

Congrats Peter.
Now get off that computer - You've got diapers to change, bottles to warm, sleep to lose, etc...
And enjoy every minute of it, as it doesn't get any better than this!
