Graffiti is rarely seen in Shanghai, or in China, however the government gave one road over to urban art and it's fun to stroll around this locale given over to art.

The pandas are cool...and the last one with the tall buildings in the background is cool too (even if name/letter graffiti isn't my cup of tea...i'm more into Logan or os gemeos kind of stuff.

I think this is one of the better graffiti series I've seen on any forum in some time. I also like that little bit of backstory - thanks for that.

The same was done with an alley in the small northwest city I live in, but no "artists" use it. All the graffiti in this area ends up on the many rail cars that pass through the region.

sometimes they fly through to page 2, this is an awesome pictorial of artistry on the streets. I have observed graffiti many times throughout the US and this seems so much more organized in a sense. I wonder if you have noticed graffiti on RR trains or under bridges in other locations. thanks for the view. Bob

Thank you Coeurdechene ! I think the Blue Building used to be a factory but has been converted to multiple small rooms used for residential.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen graffiti in China - no matter where you go in this city of 23 million people, at any time of day or night, there are always people around and I believe this is one of the main reasons for the lack of graffiti in prominent locations.

I should point out though that you very very rarely see any graffiti in Shanghai - this is a designated area for 'artists'.

Hahahahaha.... That's most certainly not the case here. But otherwise I seem to end-up thinking the same thing most every one of my "show your photos" threads. Often I'll look-in somewhere and not comment too tho; so I guess everyone's doing the same.

No-one got locked up or sent to Mongolia - this area was designated by the Shanghai Govt as a 'graffiti permitted, nay encouraged, area !
