Yeatzee's macros: Deep stacking
Lens: F 28mm ISO: 50
Posted By: yeatzee, 05-04-2011, 09:22 PM

Well I got my linear stage today, but sadly didn't have time to set anything up legitimately. I spent most of my time trying to figure out how to use it/put it together/how to attach the camera

Here's a quicky with a dead bee I found, only about 30 images stacked. The setup was a reversed Pentax F 28mm F/2.8 reversed on extension tubes. I could have easily used my favorite reversed 50mm prime to get this magnification but I decided to use a setup I consider my worst to see whats what with the newport stage

The 28mm was at F/4 I believe... anyways heres the shot.

The subject is very dirty, and combine zm had a lot of trouble with the intricate hairs, but overall im pleased

edit: Heres a larger version for you guys to see all of the horrible faults with the image

It looks like it's going to work out very well for you ! Why f4 instead of f8 / f11 ?

Well we'll see Its time for some new optics though (microscope objectives to be more precise)

Diffraction was why This is quite a bit more magnification than 1:1 (and partly because I can now :P )
