Singapore (Part II)
Lens: DA 18-55 WR + DA 55-300 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Singapore ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F8

Following on from Singapore (Part I) - PentaxForums.com, I present more images from the series I captured from the beautiful Asian island nation.

It has such a rich conglomerate of Indian, Chinese and Malaysian cultures, and offers much to see and do (not just shopping) around the CBD and beyond.

Raffles Hotel

Department of Information and Arts building

Marina Bay Sands by night

Wider view of the Marina Bay Sands

Our Lady of Lourdes church

Inside the church

The Undrepass

Taoist temple god

Chinese laundry

Lily above ground (flourishing atop the 12th floor of the Orchard Central Plaza)

And a kids display on top of the same building

This country is well worth the visit.

Thanks, Ash. A very well presented series.
Singapore has sure changed since I was there last. Gee, I just realised that was 10 years ago. How time flies!

Edit: I must stop doing mental calculations - it was 20 years ago.

Ash, really enjoyed the night photography, very nice. Oh, and of course the Chinese laundry shot, now that is certainly different. Bob

Thanks all. It's continually developing - and even when I was there last (over 20 years ago now!) it was quite well developed. It's a grand sight now.

I did try to get a mix of both the touristy scenes as well as the everyday living scenes, Bob.
My only regret was not taking the DA 12-24 and FA limiteds with me for better IQ.

Great series!

The 2 Marina Bay shots are the standouts for me.

No worries mate.
Most of the attractions are within walking distance from the CBD area (City Hall MRT), so enjoy the trip.

Lovely series Ash .. that 18-55 is doing sterling service even though you may have preferred the 12-24. Think the lovely dept of art shot needs straightening.

I remember visiting Raffles Hotel before it's make-over (and that was quite a few years ago now) ! I was last there in 1985 I believe (don't count stop-overs) and my father was there in the late 1940s - his description of Sing is something else !

Thanks mate.
The MICA building shot was poorly taken and despite corrections in PP I could not get it to look much better than that. I may have the chance to reshoot it with this in mind, but I will be greatly limited by the 18mm...

I can just imagine the metamorphosis of this Asian hub od development over the years, and today is looks like quite a amalgumation of grandiose western architecture with old British relics all done up nicely meeting age-old marketplaces and places of worship.

The ones i like the most:
"Wider view of the Marina Bay Sands", what a scene!
"The Undrepass", great framing!
"Chinese laundry", cool shot

Thanks to you both. Singapore is certainly colourful in more ways than one.
