Sydney on Holiday
Camera: K20D & K100DS Photo Location: Sydney & Katoomba ISO: 200

I'm on a weeks holiday over in Sydney staying with my brother. Unfortunately I've acquired a raging cold the day before I flew over! Anyhow, did the mandatory trip to Blue Mountains. Some really stunning scenery, unfortunately we were pressed for time (sunset photos would be great I should think!)

Hope you enjoy, I'll be off to Taronga Zoo etc later in the week i'll put any updates in here.

Thanks for sharing these fine scenes through your lenses mate.
The Manly beach pano looks great! Is it a stitch job?
Beautiful colours in the first two.

Thanks Ash,

Yeah they are stitched, with a nice bit of freeware. As for the colour, the Blue Mountains are known for having that strong tinted haze apparently from a vapor produced by numerous Eucalypt trees in the valley. It does make a nice balance with the green vegetation I agree

Blue Mountains. Gods country.
Nicely done man.

But yes, the biggest problem with shooting vast, panoramic views of the Blue Mountains is that they are blue (yes, because of the the mammoth amount of Eucalyptus oil in the air) and so everyone thing the colours are wrong. Which theyre not

Checked out Taronga Zoo today as one of the must-see's. Really enjoyed it, they sure do fit a lot of animals in though (bit more room for them would be nice). I used the K20D with Sigma 135-400mm primarily but a few wider photos and night shot are the Tamron SP 35-80mm

Okay Frogfish here is another.

I don't have $200 AUD to spend on a bridgeclimb unfortunately, imagine my surprise when I found you can climb to the top of the support pylons for a measly $9.50! I think having the metal span visible in the panoramic from my vantage point was an advantage anyway
