Putting life in a dull photo?
Lens: pentax 18-250 Camera: k20d Photo Location: N.H. ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/4s Aperture: F5.6

Sometimes a non descript photo may fall prey to the delete button and sometimes it can be saved with a little tweaking. My son wanted me to take a pic of the glass of wine in hopes that he could take the photo and frame it by his wine rack. The 2nd photo was made with the filter effect by the k20d.I hit the HDR button and saved it and then brought it up again and added illustration mode to the HDR shot and saved it.He liked it and we printed it out and celebrated with a couple more glasses of merlot.--charliezap

Hey Capn, I figured you're a "half-full" (rather than half-empty) kind of guy. I love shots like this - isolated looks a life's little details. I actually prefer the first one.

oh my, that is cool! still playing with the features, eh Charlie, and it is paying off in spades. Great shot. You should enter it into the Still Life photo contest for this month.

Yes that is an interesting feature, is it a Photoshop Plugin?

Charlie, I have found the better the wine, the better the photo. Nice shots, thanks Bob

Thanks everyone for the kind words. To answer EM the feature to do the effects is right in the K20d.Press the fn button will bring you to screen where you will find a "filter" mode that you can do all kinds of neat stuff before the pics even see a computer.--charliezap

I love the effect in the second shot Charlie. Not overdone and the colors through the glasses on the left and right are well suited to the technique. Well done and save me a sip will ya?
