Japanese Garden, Clingendael, The Hague
Lens: Sigma 17-70mm OS HSM Camera: Pentax K-r Photo Location: The Hague ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F6.7

Only open for a few weeks every year, so when it's open it can get really crowded in one of the nicest places in The Hague. Did not visit the garden for almost 30 years so when it opened this year I took the opportunity to make a visit on one of the first weekend since opening this year.

Can we see more? I love the way the Japanese gardens are laid out. Wouldn't mind seeing more pics if you have them.

With the DA 70mm

With the DA-L 35mm f2.4

Hard to get shots without people in the way, so concentrated on isolated elements in the garden.

#3 is especially lovely ! I think perhaps you have over-saturated some of the others, the bridges and pink flowers.

No extra saturation was applied in Lightroom, I had to deal with some harsh light coming in. Even had to lower the luminance slider in Lightroom.

Must be hard to capture those reds when they are highly lacquered and reflect light so much. Nice series of shots.

I shoot RAW and I believe the saturation slider in Lightroom stays at 0 now matter what settings you use in-camera. Only thing I adjust slightly is the vibrance but that slider does not affect those colours that are already close to being oversaturated.

That bridge in real life is even brighter than in the picture.

Thanks for more. I really like that shot with the little people in particular. I've never seen that before.
