Wow, Marc - it's great to see your stuff again. These are perfect.

My honor Jer and I should be around a bit more, although you'd better watch out when I get a K-5! I suspect this lens and the K-5 will be a pretty spiffy combination - certainly the higher DR and ISO performance will be wonderful. Having a higher FPS will be nice, but knowing the subject is definitely more valuable.

Cheers,
Marc

Wow, nice series.
I love the last pic, very nice details.
Love the hovering shot too if the shutter speed is faster will be better.
Thank you kengoh for the comments!

My shutter speeds in better lighting are normally a bit higher in brighter lighting. Please don't forget this is a K10D body and it has limitations. Also, this is closer to what your eye would see, not a flash capturing the wings frozen in mid-air. It depends on the intent of the photographer too.

The details in such small birds never cease to amaze me. Thanks again for posting and commenting.

Terrific series, Marc. Sharp and with lovely color. Your photos of hummingbirds are always a treat.
I really appreciate it Tamia - thank you for the comments - more to come.

Great to see you back Marc.

As ever amazing images. Can't wait to see what you do with the K5. Still saving for one myself.

So that's what they look like when they're standing still. These are beautiful! Not quite beautiful enough to unseat my daughter as my wallpaper, but very nice!

A childhood friend of mine, his father had one of those 600mm lenses. Dougy used to get it out, just for the wow factor. As in "Guess what this is dude?" I never saw a picture taken with it until now. Thanks so much.

Hi Tom,

I'm glad to be back, although it will be a tad sporadic through the summer. I'm planning to buy the K5 - just not sure when that will happen!

Thank you for the comments and hope you are doing well.

Regards,
Marc
