A couple bugs from the other day. I don't know what kind of flying bug it is, but it is kind of pretty. Thanks for looking...

This is what I'd call Extreme Macro where you see the very minute detail of an insect in crisp sharp focus. Colour and lighting are very good as well. Top notch shots.

Definitely my pleasure and after all, I'm telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Thanks, the encouragement helps! Lots.

The last photo of the ant on the dandelion, reminds me of all the old "B" horror movies from my youth, like "Mysterious Island" and all those! But this is good therapy, as I really don't like bugs much, but the closer I get, the less I dislike them.

Great shots! Care to share how they were done, and lit?

Love these - especially the first and last one. Would also be interested how you shot them. Thanks for posting these.

Thanks again for the encouragement! These were taken after work behind a huge warehouse building. I used a cheap manual flash utilizing a cowboy studio remote flash trigger. Also used two sets of Pentax auto extension tubes on a SMC Pentax A 50mm f/1.4 lens on the K5. The shots were handheld, late in the afternoon. I had to get real close, and I think the bugs were braver than I.
