A fortunate moment
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 05-25-2011, 06:29 PM

On a dark and rainy evening we were sitting inside the trailer having supper when I happened to look out of the window on the other side from were we sitting and couldn't believe my eyes. Just grabbed the camera and ran outside, it was all over in less than 5 minutes.

Rampant kick-assery in those shots.

It reminds me of the sunset photos one can take of Uluru/Ayers Rock in Australia.
The light is beautifully amber for a few minutes, then it vanishes in a matter of
10-20 seconds.

Regards,
--Anders.

Nice catch Heinrich.
Way to have the camera ready - even at the supper table!

Thank you Anders and yes that light does not last more than a few minutes, I probably should have been out there few minutes earlier but such is life.

Take care

Awesome. Great image, so glad you reacted. I've seen stuff like this on many occasions, and am a little too aware of how fleeting such light can be. SO usually I sit back for a minute, asking myself "should I bother?" And by the time I'm close to a decision, it's gone.

Better to shoot first and ask questions later!

Thank you Todd, as for reacting, on too many occasions I have not and regretted it later.

Take care,
