A little thunder storm, full of fire, coming in from the southwest, over the plains of northeastern Oregon.

Great shot and idea! Your thread reminded me that I had some shots of a spectacular storm that I hadn't finished PPing. This storm hit near Dorchester, New Brunswick, on the upper Bay of Fundy. I was up on the railway taking pictures when I realised it was coming fast and a raised rail bed was not a good place to be in a thunder storm! We went just down the road to an abandoned industrial site, and I had just enough time to hop out of the car, take a few quick shots of the black clouds rolling across the bright blue sky, and dive back into the car to mop raindrops off the camera. It was intense, and short-lived. I have shots taken from a little further down the road of the retreating clouds, and the sun coming back out.

K100, Sigma 17-70

Thanks for the reminder, I should go back and tidy up a few more from that series.

Here is one from last summer. With all the menacing looks it did not pruduce any rain.

looks pretty straight to me - it is the land that slopes. You can tell by looking at the house, which is level.

This was taken one evening on the PEI ferry from Nova Scotia. It was a very violent thunderstorm that passed over the boat and the sun was setting just behind the storm front. I know the shot is noisy in the orange and I bracketed 5 quick shots. The -1/3 Ev shot had the best colour. ISO 1250, 1/30th 28mm. The +1/3Ev was sharp and clean but lost all the impact of the colours.

And a few others from a previous post awhile back....

Weather is definitely Iowa's most redeeming quality. That and the caucus. Oh, and the State Fair. But anyway...
