Some photos from my trip to the Huntington Gorge, a local swimming hole, one that has claimed over 20 lives.

This is the outing that gave me a wicked case of poison Ivy. Do you think the photos were worth 5 days of oozing?

Thanks for looking!

Huntington is east of Heinsburg, Vermont, basically at the base of Camel's Hump mountain. The gorge has been a popular swimming hole for generations, but the pools and falls are deceptively dangerous and have claimed many lives over the years.

The rain here has been non-stop, and the rivers are all full to overflowing and flooding. Crazy rain. Should start building an arc and collecting the animals...

Thanks for looking and for the kind comments!

I live in a flat place where the steepest inclines are the are the exit ramps from motorways.

So rarely get to see natural beauty(in the grand vista sense). I stood on my first mountain last week. I manages a couple of tourist snaps I was so overcome with the excitement.

Nice photos but I must say, having had poison ivy, nothing is worth five days of oozing. I hope you have gotten over it by now. My skin crawls just thinking about it.

Actually, it oozes for a couple days, then scabs up and itches like crazy. Then it crawls!

I swear by this stuff called "Tecnu" soap. It will get the oils off of your skin, help prevent the spreading, and will take weeks off of the recoup time.

And yes, I am all better now, thanks for asking, and for looking at my photos!
