Year's First Macro

The K5 may be dead but at least I have lots of shots still to process !

Thanks Dave ! I have had a good offer for my K7 (US$670) so I may accept that and get another K5 while I'm waiting for the first one to come back.

This shot is of a commonly found garden fly, it was taken with the Tamron 90 & a x2 Macro TC, on a Velbon rail / Benro tripod and is of 4 shots stacked to get the DoF in the eyes. I just love insects that have compound eyes - they are always my point of focus (excuse the pun).

Thought you all might want to see an 85% crop of that eye :

Kevin, that is sure up close and personal, great shot for sure. Reminds me of the contraption that was worn in the movie "Silence of the Lambs". thanks for sharing. Bob

Sacrilege ! I keep looking at that bad boy and wondering if it would give me anything over the Tamron 90 except WR. Let me know how it goes !
