A two week journey in Northern Greenland
Posted By: Duplo, 06-03-2011, 03:47 AM

Granted I do not post often, but every now and then I hope to find the time.
I spend a lot of time traveling and much time shooting.

I am now done processing and writing from my trip to North Greenland, an amazing adventure.

Now as the format here is a little difficult to make fit, then I will just post a couple of Teasers... the tech story you will have to dig up at DPR.

The travel log from the trip is here though:
Duploworld: The North Greenland Travel log
The favourite images from the trip here:

But onto a few samples:

Traditionalism:
A walrus hunter walking up to his dog, to check a possible injury
(K-5 and DA*16.50 @ 39mm)

Comfort zones:
In this tiny cabin 6 people were sleeping for the night. You will ahve to read the full story to understand the tittle and the image.
(K-5 and DA14)

Endurance:
A local walrus hunter guiding his sled and dogs among crisp ice close to the edge of the sea ice, as the fog preceding a blixxard reels in behind him
(K-5 and DA*16-50 @ 50mm)

The factory:
What we think is an old factory located with a gorgeous fiord view.
In the background the rais from the sun falling behin the ridge camera left.
(K-5 and FA77ltd)

The Sled tent:
Our happy home at sunset.
(K.5 and DA14)

I even managed to squeeze in a full day of sledding in Ilulissat on my way south:
(K-5 and FA*24)

And to shoot two portrait sessions with this young lady:
(K-5 and FA77ltd)

Thanks for looking.
Comments and questions are as always highly welcome

Thomas, great story and wonderful captures!
I love the light on that old factory image. It does look like it was taken on Mars!

Great series and well-photographed. Can't wait to see the rest of your series. The portrait is really stunning.
