memorial day memories...

... last posting from this past memorial day.... as a 50'ish child of the 'greatest generation'... each passing memorial day becomes more difficult as there are noticeably fewer of them to pay homage to....

I agree with Bob & Ash, you nailed it. Over here we have two occasions of remembrance, ANZAC Day and Vietnam Veterans Day.

A very enjoyable group of photos, Dave. My Dad, part of the greatest generation, was in a rifle company of the 180 Inf, 45th Inf Div and fought his way from Anzio up through southern France and into Germany. He came out of the war with a Purple Heart, a Silver Star and - best of all - in good health and lived a great life until he passed in 1995. Although he didn't die in the war, I always think of him on Memorial Day - and pictures like yours also spark memories of my terrific Dad.
