2 old cars.
Lens: da* 50-135 f2.8 Camera: k5 Photo Location: scotland

Two old car's I shot using the k5 and da* 50-135.

Both images are stitched from around 30-40 shots to emulate a larger format or faster lens.

Just thought I would share.

WOW! Gorgeous classic cars and very nice captures!
That large format camera effect is convincing and also quite pleasant to my eye. Care elaborate on that process?

Sure, its almost the same as doing a stitched landscape if you have ever done that before?

Just like any photo, I pick my position.. set my exposure and decided on my focus point.
After that I lock both the exposure and focus and then go about capturing the scene, remember to keep around 1/3 of the old shot in the frame to give the software something to work with when matching images.

Because im going for a shallow DoF, I get upclose to the subject and shot. These shots were done at 135mm f2.8, I could only fit a small amount of the subject into each shot and alot of your shots will be blurry but that's the point .

Once you get home load your photo's into your stitching software and your own your way to a final image.

Spectacular rendition of these images.
#1 looks as is if were a miniature model - must be the way the grass appears.
Something about that image. Nicely processed.

Thank you all, I just recently noticed a few small errors on the first one that I have since fixed but ill update the flickr photo later as flickr changes the address of imgs when you do that.

Here is a simulation of the k5 sensor size on the image, I got this by overlaying a single frame onto the image and making a box out of it and then duplicating the box's to see how many sensor's it would take to do the image. It dosn't look like you would have to take alot of shots, but by the time you put in your 1/3 overlap on each image to give the programs something to work with it dose .

Im not sure if anyone could use this to calculate what kind of lens would be needed to get that shot on apsc?
It was shot at 135mm f2.8.
