Sure, its almost the same as doing a stitched landscape if you have ever done that before?
Just like any photo, I pick my position.. set my exposure and decided on my focus point.
After that I lock both the exposure and focus and then go about capturing the scene, remember to keep around 1/3 of the old shot in the frame to give the software something to work with when matching images.
Because im going for a shallow DoF, I get upclose to the subject and shot. These shots were done at 135mm f2.8, I could only fit a small amount of the subject into each shot and alot of your shots will be blurry but that's the point

Once you get home load your photo's into your stitching software and your own your way to a final image.
