Morro Bay Stars
Lens: Sigma 18-50 Camera: Pentax K-7 Photo Location: Morro Bay, CA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: >6s

I've been really busy with finals lately and haven't been able to get much shooting in, so I thought I'd share a photo I took a couple months ago. I went out intending to capture the star trails and hopefully their reflections in the water. However, it ended up being really windy and the fog started moving in. I almost didn't go out, but decided to give it a shot anyways. I'm very glad I did! The shot turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Great image Josh. What was the shutter opening time and F stop setting? JIM

Oops, forgot to add the aperture. It was 7.1. The shutter time was 1819 seconds or about 30 minutes. Thanks!

You did very well Josh.
You've shown that the K-7 can produce decent looking long exposures at ISO 100.
Did you encounter much noise during processing?
You could also cool the image down considerably and get yourself a more brilliant blue in the sky.

Thanks! The noise wasn't too bad, but was a little worse than on some other long exposures I've shot, but it cleaned up very nicely in Lightroom. Thanks for the tip about the sky.
