It was a cottage to some Connecticut rich family in the 1800's.

I like the cottage, but hate the color

It was a cold day here as well, but I still went out as well.
I got snowed on while out there

Curious where in CT. ? Doesn't look to cold but the house pictures all seem a little off to me. Not sure if it was the light or losing light it look like. Maybe a levels tweek will help them? Or it is just me. I like the first 2 as well

Its in Woodstock CT, i live right on the boarder of Ma and CT so its only a stones throw away. It might be the lighting, i was losing the sun very quickly haha.

Your the only one here that actually knows what the house should look like mrmorrill,
If you think that it looks right then it probably does.

I've tweaked the bottom one a little, and it's saved to my computer at the moment.
If you'd like I could post it.
It doesn't look any better or I would have posted it, however the sky is more radiant, and the house stands out more.
I would have posted it if it was a big improvement.

Here's the original

A very nice photo to start with.

And this was just tweaking the contrast more than anything

Like I said it isn't any better, just a little different.

Your picture brings out the period of the house more the darkness is more of a "gothic" look. If i am correct the house is a Gothic style right?

I actually fixed the last image because its not straight...

Overall nice pictures. On the first one the front stone looks like it is leaning back, easy to fix by straightening the vertical line in PP like this:

The second one just needs a little "shadow/highlight", like this:

After a while pp will become second nature to you, I use photoshop CS3 but there are many other capable programs that would fill your needs.

Take care, Heinrich
