A snapshot I took downtown this past Saturday, with a little massaging in Photoshop. Maybe a bit over the top, but I like it.

Not bad, but quite noisy Todd. Did you have to bump ISO up to like 10000+?

It was shot at 2500. It was just a snapshot, and when I realized how low I would need to bring my shutter speed to get what I wanted, I just decided not to bother....was busy with other stuff anyway.

But today I started thinking about how resilient the K-5 files are, and decided to play with what would normally have been a throw-away shot. I made 4 virtual copies, and adjusted the exposure in one-stop increments from -2 to +2, then blended in Photomatix, then hit it with Topaz adjust, then did some other Photoshop stuff, including a fairly extreme Curves adjustment. In other words, these pixels have been more abused than if they had a two-week stay at Abu Ghraib.

Here's a before and after, showing the shot straight-out-of-the-camera:

Ah yes, I see.

It did need that extra processing, though you definitely took it to another level.
