Lens: 50mm f/2.8 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Charleston Peak Winery, Pahrump NV
Posted By: Bob Harris, 06-09-2011, 09:35 PM

I connected the 50mm f/2.8 macro to the K-5 and took photos from the gardens at the winery where we are camped at in Nevada. I hadn't used the macro very much in closeup photos that I was happy with and thanks to some helpful hints and encouragement from EM "Eaglem", I decided to give it another try. C&C welcome, thanks Bob

Now these shots are really attention getting, razor sharp focus, vivid colour and good composition. I see great improvement going on here! Well done.

Another good set, be careful about blowing out the highlights as in the shot of the red flower. You could try dropping back the brightness and contrast slightly in your PP program.

EM, "downunderman" just gave me the ultimate excuse, the red photo was done after the wine tasting. It isn't blown out, I was. Bob

thanks Charlie, looking for more photos from your new 100mm macro. Here are a few more, I may have gotten a bit too close to the oleander blossom, but the other two I was happy with the result. C&C always welcome. Thanks Bob

Thanks EM and the others that commented and to all the others that took a look at the thread. This has been a learning experience for me using the macro lens and here are the last two photos to close the thread out. Bob
