Got these shots on my front porch last night, This K5 is so nice to use. Coupled with my Sigma 530 Super flash, I really enjoyed taking these. Thanks for looking and CC always welcome!!!

Geez! I hate these bugs...They're all over here in Pa.
But on the other hand, really nice shots! Always loved the macro!

Thanks tpg2 and downunderman, The credit goes to the K5, I really think that it is going to totally change the way I shoot macros. Most of these shots were at 600-1200 ISO, when I used my Kx, at those ISO settings, they seemed flat, That being said, I was very rarely using a flash. Now that I have the Sigma flash, and I am more comfortable with it, coupled with the K5, I have no fear or worries shooting like this at night. I have a soft box, and I think I will be using that more also.

I'm leaning more to getting the k5, every time I see results of photo's, it gets more so. But is it a want or a need

Excellent photos!!! I do not envy you of being in the path of the Cicada's. Keep your window up while driving down the road!!

BTW, if you shot these photos at 6000-1200 ISO, it makes me want to throw my K-7 out the window! Wonderful job!

Those are such amazing shots. I love how crisp the detail is, as I've never seen one quite like that. I love the fourth pic, where it looks like the little cicada is getting undressed, out of his dirty, old form. You definitely captured a special moment in time, as I hear the cicadas only come out for a little while before going back underground for many years.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I had a blast taking these, we just got some new neighbors and they pulled into their drive as I was taking these shots, I am sure they are "gravely concerned about the crazy old guy next door!
