Boys will be boys!
Posted By: SouthShoreRob, 11-11-2007, 12:29 PM

With winter fast approaching, I thought I would take my boys over to the local conservation area for a little walkabout. Naturally, when I proposed a little fun in the leaves, my two rugrats were more than happy to oblige. What follows is the sequence I shot.

Technically there are issues here, I realize, but considering the fact I was using an old Vivitar 70-150 manual focus, I'm pretty happy. From what my Pentax Photo Browser tells me, I was shooting bright mode, ISO 400, 1/60th SS, automatic white balance. And, if I recall correctly, I had pre-set the aperature for F5.6.

In terms of post-processing, I always try to keep it the same (and simple). Photoshop Elements: auto levels to begin, resize width to 640 pixels, sharpen filter, save @ medium quality.

1. Find something to work with...

2. Get set...

3. Let 'er go...

4. Enjoy the show!

Rob, never mind "technical issues" this is a delightful sequence. Thanks for posting it.

Adorable little "rugrats". Who cares about technical issues? These are great - capturing a fun time together.

Great series, the last picture is just awesome. The smiles and the leaf on the little guy's head, lol.

I agree, forget the technical side. The fact is candid or not, it will be an occasion to talk about in the future.

I notice that the younger one is taking his "que" from the older one.

Excellent!

I love these!

The last is the best "children playing" shot I've seen in a long time.

merci

Thanks all for the very kind comments. I am buoyed by the statements indicating overall composition outweighs the technical flaws. I'm thinking I'll print three of the four (either @ 4x6or 5x7) and then find a suitable frame to showcase them with here in our family room.

Thanks again,

Rob
