surreal look
Posted By: robert, 11-12-2007, 11:07 AM

I posted a couple of truck pictures using this look I achieved using lightroom but can't decide if I like it . It doesn't quite look real but it is pleasing to the eyes..at least to me Bob

I think it is great except for the trees or bushes in the right back part.

A very nice picture!
In various PP packages (lightroom, bibble pro, photoshop) you can get rid of the vignetting.
You should clean that up and you might have a winning photo.

Its funny because the vignetting is part of the processing...Bob

I really like the image, the way it's shot and what you've done with it. but i have to agree (and I felt this way about the forst post as well) that Bert's tight. I would rather see this without the vignetting.

I suppose like all art, it's a matter of taste. I would prefer the natural look, not this manipulated look. Again, this is just a personal preference. I always tend to go for the natural look, which is one of the reasons I so readily respond to Duplo's images. But I do like the composition and I recognize that my voice is in the minority.

All the best.

Definitely surreal. A bit of hard light and desaturated look. Beauty.

Hi Bob,

I did like it in the second truck picture but do not like it in this one, would like to see it in regular processing or as shot.

Take care, Heinrich

Is the horizon a tad bit off? For some reason my head tilts to the left when I look at it. I can't tell if it is because of the horizon or maybe because of some of the lines in the image making me want to do that.

Very interesting effect.

yes the horizon does appear to be very slightly tilted to the right hand side. however.its a great shot!.. but me personally, i think the corn stacks (or whatever they are), look like a bunch of 'corn robots' lining up off the conveyorbelt , ready to go to war. that might sound completely insane, and thats ok, i dont concider myself to be completely sane.. regardless, great shot mate!!
