Just a few birds
Lens: 55-300 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Alberta, Canada ISO: 800

Cassin's Finch

Black-headed Grosbeak

Tree Swallow

American Goldfinch (male)

American Goldfinch (female)

This is not a good image but it is my first Sandhills Crane. Taken with Bigma at 500mm and it is a 100% crop. The bird had two chicks with her but they were almost invisible in the tall grass, once in a while one could see their heads bobbing up.

Comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Oh my goodness, your bird pictures always astound and inspire! The shimmer on the sleepy Tree Sparrow is extraordinary and I don't think I have seen a black capped grosbeak before.

Wonderful!!

Heinrich, my hat's off to you - the ability to get sharp pics of small birds is simply beyond my ken - maybe I've lived too hard a life.

Great shots, as always, my friend.

great shots and color, how wonderful you have such an abundance of wildlife to photograph in your area, not much where I am in the desert now, so I will just enjoy yours. thanks Bob

Thank you Tess, you make me blush. The black-headed grosbeak is listed as rare and is only found in two small pockets in the very south of Alberta one of them being Waterton Lakes National park and that's where we spent a week. I took that picture right on our campsite.

Take care,

It's not a very sharp picture but it was just too far away.In any case it sure was nice watching that bird for over half an hour.

Take care,

Hi Bob and thank you, that is one of the reasons that we travel around, the different types of wildlife.

Take care,
