The Coloseum at night

The Trevi Fountain

The Vatican

I like them all, the B&W conversions are great. The drunk is a great shot. I only wish the feet were in the frame and he wasn't right in the middle of the shot. But those are small details, it's still a great shot!. Love the windows!! Well done.

Yea the street performer is my favorite too, I have tried a few different crops but I left this one as the orignal. I really wish the feet were all the way in the picture too and I didnt realize it until I looked at the pictures later on that night, O well I guess this gives me a reason to go back, thanks for the comments

Excellent - if they were bigger, I could almost feel as if I was there! Great captures, especially the street performer.

Suggestion: how about a tighter crop on him, and see what you get...

I gotta agree with Marc,

A tighter crop might be interesting.
Not to mention getting the feets into the frame

That said, darn fine work.

Ohhh I really like how the first picture is, besides the feet. But what can you do. All the pictures look good by the way. I'm very partial to BW and you did a great job converting them over. What process did you use, if you don't mind me asking.

The windows are the ones that pull me in. Like it a lot.
Also came across the street performer during the summer and got a shot, which am quite pleased with. This isn't a contest thread but will post it if folk want to see it and offer advice.

You went to the eternal city just for the weekend! I see they've already cleaned-up the Fontana di Trevi, just a couple of weeks ago some idiot poured red paint into it.

As much as I like the BW image of the actor, the Collisseo has the right colour for my eyes.

superb photos.. i love the 1st one and also the last one.. however.. i think you could improve these images if you spent a little time cropping them to achieve the most out of the pics.. well done tho, and keep up the great work!

Yea I we only had time for a weekend trip, but I'm studying abroad in London right now so its only a 2 hour flight. I never would have guessed that someone threw paint into it, amazing how fast they can clean it up. But I'm sure they get a lot of stupid people like that trying to ruin things for everyone else.

Ooops. Forgot you were studying in the UK.

That last shot is soooooooooooooooo Rome - brings back many fond memories. I have a pre-digital shot of San Paolo Basilica which I must dig-up.

Anyway, excellent work.

The cut off feet do not bother me. The decision to use black and white brings out the character. One has to work with what they have, and often, cutting people off at cerain places has the effect of drawing attention to certain parts of the photo. Like when you cut a head just above the eyes, it immediately draws attention to the eyes.

All, nice work.
