well here goes.... i have been into photography for almost 7 years now. up until yesterday afternoon i had been using a soviet 35mm zorki SLR and also a cannon powershot a530 mini digi cam. I purchased a PENTAX K100D with a 15-50mm lense+(uv & polarise filter) along with a velbon sherpa 250R tripod. i am amazed at the sheer quality and functionality of the k100d. For a relatively cheap DSLR, i think you would be hard pressed in finding a better camera in this price range. Since yesterday i have been spending alot of time, trying to work out all the features etc,so far so good.
. im very much a learner as far as photography goes, and especially at photoshop and digital etc. i have never actually had any lessons, tuition, or course work to teach me about photography and how to take photos, so all the photos you see here are purely an interpretation of what i feel photography is all about.... and that is to be able to capture an image that speaks a thousand words and can last a lifetime.. i would really appreiciate any comments (gud and bad) , as i still have so much to learn..

I see a great many that cause me to think, "Man, I wish I could shoot like that."

You have a good eye for pulling photos out of your surroundings. Also a talent for making the mundane and commonplace look intriguing.

I agree with your assessment of the K100D; it is an amazing camera.

thanks for the encouraging words mike.. i really appreciate it. all my friends and family have been pushing me to take my photography further than just a hobby for as long as i can remember. to be truthful, i have never really considered my work to be up there with others. i will admit that i am fairly critical of my work and i am never really happy with my shots.. i think i might be starting to realise that people are appreciating my work for what it is. i have always tryed to capture photos that i can look back on and think.. oh yer, that was a great time to be alive, and i count my lucky stars every day that i am here in this world and able to put across my interpretation of what photography is all about.. i have decided that as of this january i will be comencing a full time photography course, and hopefully that can lead me into the right direction. because at the moment, i dont really know which way to go.. im a little bit lost, but eventually, with fingers crossed, i will find my way..

i must admit, i dont really like taking pictures of birds. im pretty sure this reflects in my shots.. i think i need some practice.. i just find them boring to be honest.. perhaps some more 'midflight' would be more dramatic..

Wow ... you have pretty much started your own portfolio right here.

I wish I had the time to walk around and keep snapping images all of the time.
I must admit though ... you really have the eye for it too.

I definitely agree with Mike Cash on this one .... you have made the mundane Melbourne city surroundings actually look interesting indeed.

Not sure if anyone has asked ... what lens have you been using the entire time ... or is it a compilation of different lenses????

Keep up the great work though.
