Nice clear shot. It didn't grab my eye at first but did get me looking out of interest in a lifestyle I know nothing about. I wonder if cropping some of the foreground and a bit off the left side might bring the subject out better. Just a thought...

I did give some thought to a tighter crop. But I wanted to show the full context of them playing in what is actually a farm field that some local gateball nut no doubt contributed so that he and his neighbors could play together. Notice that even though it just a casual get-together among friends who have probably known each other for decades they still go through the motions of pinning numbers onto their clothes? Sort of hard to make out, but the lady taking a shot is wearing #4.

Now that you mention it I do see the numbers. Very neat. I did notice the fact they were playing on a small portion of a farm field so I must admit you're right about the added interest of the foreground on second thought. It's an interesting shot the more I look at it.
