At the lake...first attempt birding C&C please! · 07:47 PM

Hi all!
Well I got my 80-200mm on Thursday, went to Barr Lake outside of Denver today to test the long end. While I know it still doesn't have the reach I needed I was quite pleased.

The bird shots were a mix of Av and Tv mode. I was struggling with shutter speeds, how fast is too fast?

Red Tailed Hawk: Tv, f8.0, 1/250, 200mm

Geese: Av, f5.6, 1/1000, 200mm

Mallards: Av, f6.7, 1/500, 200mm

As I was walking back I heard the brush rattling...waited a step...and viola...magic

I really like the adjustment! I've playing with the image tonight as well. I like the crop too, I don't mind at all, I learn so much for everyone's photos, I appreciate the help.

and Tom I thought I was dreaming when he came out of the scrub..I had been shooting for a couple of hours, and while I had some good shots nothing prepared me for that. I was expecting him to turn and see me and bolt, but the stars must of lined up.
