Mystery Hawk

I decided to test out my new REI tent so I've been camping outside in my backyard! I awoke this morning to this loud squawking right outside my tent.
(I might add that my tent doubled as wonderful yellow/gold reflector for the photo!)

Seriously who needs roosters if you have these guys around!

Anyways... what is the mystery bird? I've been thinking a juvie Red tail. but I really dont know.

Hi Ice,beautiful shots, did a great job.Wish bird would of showed just a bit more
tail for ID,but what it gave you,did fantastic with.Looks like an accipiter
or woodlands hawk, very robust bones, crash thru tree tops and stuff,
red-tails need wide open areas, somewhat darker. With yellowish eyes
and probiscus and short neck, inclined to say Imm. sharp-shinned.Still kind of
a guess without tail-tip.Also believe it to be female.
Heres link to cornell's ID page, with first hand experience you have, might help
Try coopers hawk also if things dont look right.

Nice shots, definitely not a red-tailed, I'd go for juvenile sharp-shinned. I would have guessed broad-winged if you were 1500 miles east.
