You can also some small pieces of dander flying off - look just to the right of it's bill. I was surprised to see such small objects in the shots, considering I'm about 15-18 feet away.

I hope you enjoy this series!

Cheers,
Marc

Sweet stuff. I really enjoy the depth and detail of these shots, especially #1 which is different enough from typical hummer to require indepth examination. You so nailed that thin DOF on the right spots so that the reflection in its eye in #3 gives me a view of your backyard and a little sky.

Thank you wcchamp - I agree that it's really interesting to check out the details that we normally would never be able to take in otherwise.

Best,
Marc

Hi Lee,

Thanks so much for the comments. Often I find that it's not a simple glance on those kind of images. Often I 'll go back and review it several times. I see you caught the reflection of the profile of the skyline/house in the subject's eye!

Hope you are doing well.

Regards,
Marc

humming bird photos

Marc,
These are very nice images. Like the 3rd one the best. Makes me envious of your shots of hummingbirds. I can't seem to get any to come to my feeders or my wifes flower garden. BTW how are you likeing this summer heat? we've had 18 days so far at 100 or above. Sure makes this old man lazy. LOL.
