Hey Bill, you sure are having fun with that Tamron. Nice catch, so-to-speak.

Not only the Tamron, but the camera as well. My first foray into dSLR and I could not be more pleased. What I tried to accomplish with around $2000 worth of P&S'ers over seven years, but could not, this $500 camera (plus lens) has put the fun into shooting again!

Over the last 10 years the Turkey Buzzard population has exploded up by me. Before that I never knew what one was. Now it's nothing to see 50 of them soaring the winds. I have never been able to see one up close even though I heard they were butt ugly. You have confirmed that.

Nice shot!

Great pose.

A great pose of a big ugly bird.

The purple fringing is distracting, though, especially on the left wing. There are methods of reducing or eliminating it, I hear. Maybe someone can point you in the right direction for dealing with the dreaded PF?

You sure are overrun with turkey vultures based on your second shot!

"Ugly" is in the eye of the beholder.
