Valley of Fire - Pt 1
Lens: Various Camera: K-5 ISO: 100
Posted By: SpecialK, 07-09-2011, 02:41 PM

Valley of Fire north of Las Vegas.

The park headquarters.

I wanted to see the "Fireswirl" or "Wave", accessible from a dry wash next to the road, like this one.

Just a few yards up the wash.

Hmmm, end of the wash about 1/4 mile up. No Fireswirl...

So, it's the wrong wash... Still a nice hike.

Another spot known as White Domes.

Down.

Up.

Remnants of a movie set from 1965.

On the trail.

The slot.

The other side.

These are some of the best photos I have seen here, really enjoyed viewing the area again. I would imagine you had temps in the low 100's, but the humidity is generally low. You covered a lot of ground here, thanks for sharing. Bob

Las Vegas was about 105 degrees, and rising. Luckily, it was dry (unlike all the rest of my trip which was hot and humid). I drank lots of water and even poured it on my head and shirt while out and about.
