The southern entrance to Yellowstone leads to West Thumb, a smaller lake attached to the west side of Yellowstone Lake.

Black Pool.

Lake bottom.

Big Cone.

Seismograph Pool.

Bluebell Pool.

The water is so insanely clear, especially in Seismograph Pool. Thanks for sharing these awesome pictures.

Clear water is very true. I had deliberated about using a polarizer on the pools, but I did not like the results I got when testing a Hoya CPL ($40) a few months ago. I would never use one to darken sky, so it seemed to be a limited-use item I did not want to spend even more money on.

Seismograph pool was 167 F degrees :-)
