you wouldnt believe how many young people have tatoos and piercings. probably 40% of the females i've photographed have something or other. It's a trend they feel inadequat without following. Few of these young folk really know what beauty is. This girl was very young. Younger than people may think. She was in a group of 3 that was happy to take a portrait. She's no older than 13 for sure. They're so pure and innocent looking at this age. There's a good chance she may not be as photogenic in 15 years, depending on her habits.

I hear you....I realize I am old and out of touch....I kind of like that really. Seems a lot of people, girls in particular, feel inadequate today. Our world makes them see themselves as inferior I think, and they have to try and "blend in".
Funny...those that do not succumb to all the glitter and such are the ones that now stand out as being something special and unique.
