Hayden Valley, Yellowstone
Lens: Various Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Yellowstone NP ISO: 100

Hayden Valley is about 1/2 way between the canyon and Yellowstone Lake.

Pretty far away...

Fairly close...

After seeing some other places and checking in at the hotel near the lake, I mentioned to some official-type about the lack of wildlife. They suggested I go up to...Hayden Valley...as there were some wolves with pups, etc. So, back I came...

Same ducks Canadian geese?

Same bison?

Hard to tell exactly what these are from this distance (at 500mm).

Different tourists.

I like this one best.

Wildlife or not, the valley is beautiful don't you think. Not sure if you have visited Yellowstone before, but were you surprised at the remaining downed trees from the fire of 1988, I think almost 800,000 acres burned there. At the visitors center there are generally quite a few elk relaxing on the lawn areas. We were held up for a half hour once,, while bison decided to stop on the road, finally a ranger showed up and moved them off the road. Looking for more of your wonderful travel photos, thanks for sharing. Bob

Yep, a great view. First time, so I have no frame of reference about the trees. There were 2 "bison-jams" but on the other side of road so I only had a minute or two to wait. The other guys were backed up for a mile...

Great Photos, Kyle. We had a bison walk so close to car at a Bison-jam that my so grabbed my camera and got an eye shot. But it was the 55-300 and could not focus that close. There was someone who thought by driving slowly toward a buffalo that it would move. The buffalo was pissed and stared them down, they slowly backed away.
