I shot this sunrise the last morning of our recent cruise. The original was nice but I decided it might get an extra kick by adding the pelican which I shot the same morning in a bland part of the sky.



I'm not convinced that the tones and contrast of the pelican are quite right and there is a slight halo around one of the feather on the lower right. Any suggestions will be appreciated...

The sunrise is killer, Mike. As far as the Pelican goes, maybe just a tad more contrast or something might make it more believable. I find mergers tough to pull off personally. For me, it seems that his contrast with the sky is just a bit more on the gray side than the rest of the photo. Sorry its not much help but that might be a place to start.

Thanks Paul... I thought he might be too "grayish" but wanted another opinion. Think I'll try to add a bit of reddish-brown tint.
