Badlands, South Dakota
Lens: DA Limiteds Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Badlands, S Dakota ISO: 100

About 1-1/2 hours SE of Rapid City and 10 miles south of Wall, South Dakota, is the Badlands National Park.

They were painting a parking lot when I arrived at Big Badlands overlook.

Badlands wall.

The trail exhibits were somewhat dirty plexiglass affairs, thoroughly unphotogenic.

This is of course with the fisheye.

A Mustang trike.

Yellow Mounds.

Pinnacles overlook.

Tamron 70-200.

national grasslands

I was just north of Badlands in the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands...perhaps you saw me walking down rte. 240 just south of Wall, SD (purple backpack). I camped out in the grassland, imagining the experience of a native person living in that region. Really beautiful.

I was just there too! On July 2nd and again on the 4th/5th. You had a great sky to paint with!

A couple of mine:

A B&W IR shot on my DS and the 15mm:

And fireworks from the 4th, Fireworks at Interior, SD (the small town south of the Badlands, pop. 67 - they put on a great 30 minute non-stop spectactular, no kidding!):
