I had no idea any of Scotland looked like this, I've never been there but I've always just imagined endless rolling green hills. It is very striking and beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Foreboding and beautiful at the same time - a terrific shot, in my view.

If you get lucky, cause most of the time it is hidden in clouds.....also this photo was taken in a 'cloud window' which lasted maybe 15 minutes...

I walked Ben Nevis, got to the top, too cloudy/foggy to see anything, sat on a rock, got out my sandwich, unwrapped it, put it beside me to get a drink, and a sheep walked up and ate my lunch!

Then I walked around and down and went for a pint.

It was this kind of terrain that allowed the highland clans to hold off the English for a 1000 years until the battle of Culloden (1746).

BTW it's not unlike the US troops (the English) fighting the Taliban (the Highland clans) in Afghanistan.

....i also think it is rocks that make the picture - never quite understood what people mean by Zeiss 3d rendering - but i guess this may be hint of it. I feel it would work better if there's something solitary in foreground like a dead tree of some person climbing down - but no trees on Ben Nevis and all the persons were behind me waiting for mw to take the photo...as usually
