I was able to spend 3 days in Salzburg, Austria last week. (Location for 'The Sound of Music'). The first two days were cloudy and snowy. If there were mountains, I wouldn't have known it. The snow and the old buildings were beautiful, but the light was so flat.

But the third day was awesome. The forecast said cloudy, but when I looked out the hotel room and saw blue sky, I couldn't get outside fast enough!

The first two pictures are from the cloudy days, and the last was the early morning sun hitting the Untersberg Mountain.

WOW!!! These are very nice. Great use of DOF and the subjects are all well captured. I could see all of these hanging on a wall. Thanks for sharing them. My favorite would be the last one.

Hi Larry,

It is a beautiful city and the people are very friendly. Those are nice shots--they bring back good memories. I have engineers in Salzburg and I need an excuse to visit again. If you ever have the opportunity to visit in mid-December, the Christmas Market in the old town is full of photo ops.

Yes, we just missed the Christmas Markets. I think they start this weekend. It was fun watching them put up all the decorations.
