cute animals from Leipzig!
Posted By: Maddix, 11-23-2007, 06:31 AM

From the zoo Leipzig. I took them all with my Pentax K10D and a Sigma 55-200 Lens.

Nice series (btw the weekly mini challenge is zoo animals ) - the colors and focus are spot on. The last one seems a little soft but I like them all.

All nice shots, but the first one of the zebra thru the fence and #7 of the two (egoutis?) on the mound excellent! Great captures.

I love the composition in number one BUT I wonder what it would be like it you cropped out the upper and bottom rails? Personally, I think it would make a more powerful image since it is slightly distracting. Have you tried it? I realize it would put the eye a bit close to the frame edge but you might give it a try.

Thanks for your comments. I know what you mean, james. But this zebra didn't move of the fence. Waited a long time but it didn't move. I made such a shot three weeks before, with my old Fuji S5600. It's a bit noisy:

damned noise in this picture. Actually it was ISO800.
