Gonna Be A Heartbreaker......
Lens: Tamron 18-250 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Texas ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: Rupert, 07-28-2011, 04:04 PM

I have finally been able to use the K5 a little more, and have experimented with different lenses this week. I find the Tamron 18-250 to perform surprisingly well on the K5....even better than on the K20D, where I was satisfied, but not exceptionally.

Why this is.....I have no idea? But, the Tamron 18-250 is bound to see more use on the K5, it is such a handy range for walkabout shooting as I was doing today.

Gonna be a heartbreaker...look at those eyes! ISO 3200

And....I bet her sister already is! ISO 1250....Can't see that it is much better than the above at 3200 shot. No noise reduction of any kind on either.

Mrs Rupert was the principals secretary when these girls mom was their age and in school and knew her well.....time flies! Enjoy it, today will never come again....

Best Regards!

Very nice shots Rupert. I have the Pentax 18-250 lens and it is indeed an everyday walking around lens.I missed the UPS delivery today and they have my K5. One more day won't kill me.--charliezap

Cute girls. I have two young girls myself. It's better that they do the heart breaking than having their hearts broken ;-)

I like the photos that I'm getting with the Pentax 18-250 on the K-5.

Especially since there's a lens correction profile in Adobe Lightroom, the results from the lens gets even better. It easily and noticeably corrects the pincushion and barrel distortion at the wide and telephoto ends of the lens so I don't feel bad about using it for landscape shots.

Two very nice images Rupert, especially the first. Our son just upgraded from the K200 to K5 and finds that the 18-250 works as well or better on the K5.

These are excellent pictures, and especially amazing at such high ISO. Thanks for posting.

More great shots of "pretty Texas gals". You seem to be blessed with them in your area. Bob

I appreciate the comments guys! Yes, even Otis liked these two little beauties, so no worry about jealousy there!

The 18-250 is sure a handy lens, I think I will use it more often, it does pretty decent on the K5.

A little smile...
