Red Rumped Parrots
Lens: Pentax DA 16-45 Camera: Pentax K7 ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F5.8

There was a pair of Red Rumped Parrots feeding in the back yard when I went to hang out the washing, so I grabbed the K7 and the DA 55-300. The female is rather dull, and the male is very bright - but that's because he's more easily replaced.

The male demonstrates where he got his name.

They have such an amazing mixture of yellow, green and turquoise!

Good shots. These guys are usually so wary it's hard to get so close.

Thanks! I tried to get closer but they just waddled further away. I suppose I should have tried the mirror lens...
