First shots with my new K5

I got the camera yesterday and today General Electric paid me to read the instruction book for most of the day.Anyway here are some pics from this afternoon.I like what I see so far and I'm glad that I didn't wait any longer. One feature that I do like is that you can crop in the camera. It does come in handy if you want to download a cropped pic to someones computer who doesn't have the capability to PP on their own.The "pastel filter" gives me the same effect as the "illustrative filter" in the k20d.I've got more to learn and right now my head is spinning.I need a merlot --put the camera away--and relax and watch the Red Sox.--charliezap

Thanks Bob--Tommorrow we are going to Salisbury St Park on the ocean for a day of total decadence with friends and family. My wife planned ahead and got a room outside of the park so that I wouldn't have to drive home after partying all day.I'm taking my toys(k5--metal detector) and of course some red liquid just to keep me on the straight and narrow.---charliezap

Beautiful shots. I'm sure you're going to love your K-5 (you probably already do!). From what my dad says, it's an amazing camera.

Charlie, where is the "pastel filter" selection. I don't see it on the filter section within the camera, thanks Bob

Thanks everyone.I plan on taking a lot of shots today at the beach-campground.
Bob--To access more dig-pic options than the menu shows simply bring up any shot and then hit the flash symbol below the "ok" button. This brings you to a page where the filters and other options are.Simply put the green rectangle around filters and open it up and there right before your eyes are many filter choices.I hope this helps.--charliezap

Thanks mate.I just got back an hour ago from a mini get away at Salisbury State Park here in Ma.The K5 got a decent work out and I even shot a bunch of pics at 12000+ ISO at the arcade area at night with all its glitter and glitz. I hope to post some of them later.--capn zap

thanks Charlie, I recognize the filter section and have used a couple to experiment with. I didn't see the "pastel filter" listed, but now that I have, it should be interesting to see how that comes out. I hope to have the success that you have had. Bob
