Mexican Eagle in my front yard
Lens: 135-400 Sigma Camera: K5 Photo Location: Oracle,Az ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F6.7

This seems to be one of a mated pair. One on our wires another on the rock to our west at the same time. When they dive at a rabbit or quail it's almost too fast to see let alone photograph. They were here last year too. I told some bird people about them who said I was F.O.S. as they don't range this far north. Well here is proof. I guess all the gun fire to the south scared them north.

I think you got yourself a Golden Eagle. Nice capture though.
Check that against this guide:

Golden Eagle, Identification, All About Birds - Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Also researching Mexican Eagle, gives this info below:

Nice catch, I hope you can get some more shots. I've read that the Golden Eagle is often called a Mexican Eagle,

several years ago,way out of range.Cattle egret blew across atlantic ocean
back in 1940's,see them around here all time now.

It's a Harris's Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus). Golden Eagle doesn't have white undertail coverts, rusty leg feathering or rusty shoulders in any plumage.
