Thank you very much for your words, Kenafein and Dave (dcmsox).
I have an excellent copy of the kit lens, but the pics in this thread have benefited from treatment with DxO, which makes up for the lens' softness (not the usual kind of PP sharpening). I also gave them a mild HDR look with the excellent and free Picturenaut.

DxO really would be worth it if they would support a few more of my lenses. If I end up with the 12-24 I will get it for sure. Frustrating that my nikon and canon friends have full support for all their lenses. Over 90 choices for nikon last I checked and about a dozen for pentax.

I know, you're right... It pains me the Sigma 10-20mm isn't supported--in fact, they seem to have a policy not to support third-party lenses in K mount...

Then I think they consider limiteds to be 3rd party too. They don't support a single one. Wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't such a great product.

They will support the DA 40mm in a few months.

Great shots. Very vibrant and rich in detail. People always underestimate the kit lens - it's great, especially in talented hands.

Last time I was in NYC was 1996. These photos remind me that another visit to the USA, and NYC, is overdue.

Thanks for showing us these scenes that we outside the US may have never seen before.
