1956 Avia Mk3
Lens: DA 15/4 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Palo Alto, CA ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

I was looking through some car pics I shot in June at Palo Alto's annual Concours D'elegance and came across this odd looking fellow. It turns out that the car is quite rare - '56 Avia Mk3 Monoposto Streamliner, a Czech racing vehicle powered by a 750cc BMW motorcycle mill (thus the Roundel on the hood). I couldn't find much more about it than that, other than the fact that the car has appeared numerous times at other concours.

Jer, this is a new one for me. We have gone to the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance many times and if ever in the area, this is a must see. Bob

I guess this is the only one, Dave. I'm glad I was able to see it.

What a unique and interesting machine, Jer. Great use of the DA15 to bring out its dramatic styling cues. Love your auto shots - please keep 'em coming.
